Only one or two ideologies that I want to tap into at this point in my "blog" (Ugh, I hate that terminology, everyone uses it.)
First off, Violent Videogames. I find this argument rather amusing.. Conservatives and Liberals alike push for more laws on violent video games, yet they leave R-movies being sold to children out. What is more realistic, and will ingrain itself as real in a child's head first.. A movie, which has REAL people in fake situations. Or.. a collection of pixels that has FAKE people and fake things in FAKE situations. It's pretty obvious that most kids don't get nightmares from videogames, and more likely than not haven't played a violent video game before seeing a violent act on TV or in the movies. I mean seriously, have you seen the level of gore on the news lately? How do real situations with real death NOT alarm you but a bunch of pixelated characters killing each other does? How does simulated aggression translate into real aggression? Don't you think that experienced, REAL aggression would manifest itself in aggression far before simulated aggression even tapped into their system? I suppose not.
It's like music like Metal (which is a very tasteful genre, I might add), comics, and etc. were back in the 70s and 80s.. they were lambasted for portraying events that maybe you wouldn't agree with, verbally or visually. You're playing politics with something that is nowhere near the political stratosphere, and it gets to be rather annoying to see such things happening. Unlike what most "concerned" parents think, or decaying politicians say, kids today are MUCH more mentally mature than you give them credit for. They can tell the difference between reality and fantasy, and the few and far between that can't were chemically imbalanced to begin with. It's just the fact that politicians are so desperate nowadays to get their names out that they will pick something to death just for personal glory. It's disgusting, and this is coming from someone in their TEENS. Not a wizened elder, but someone who has seen much less of the world.. but can make a much wiser inference from the facts gathered.
Secondly, did you know that according to the Surgeon General (none of you politicians have done the amount of research they have, sorry, nor have you "concerned" parents) being MALE, being of a gender, is more of a risk factor to violence than video entertainment. That, and socioeconomic status. You know how ridiculous it would sound to try to pass a bill banning the male gender in Congress? You'd be laughed at, repeatedly. But according to your pysche and logic, it's a step that needs to be taken for the best of all of us. Laughable. And they call this country the "Free World". There's more censorship and deceit here than half the world, combined. So please, step off your high horses.. and LEARN SOMETHING. Plato would be ashamed, so many have not heeded his wise words. : /
I suppose freedom no longer frees you.
